Job Summary

The Manager, CRM will lead email and direct mail campaign strategy and activation for Walgreens retail media business, Walgreens Advertising Group. The Manager is the primary point of contact for internal requests and providing recommendations to Media Planners, Account Management, Sales and Clients. With prior experience in email deployment, the Manager, CRM will have hands-on experience in all components, from planning, set up and launch of the campaigns and will be able to train and mentor a team.

As the CRM subject matter expert, the Manager will be responsible for continuously improving email and direct channel experiences and optimizing the approach and process to drive marketing outcomes in line with customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a strategic, analytical, collaborative mindset with the ability to manage email initiatives independently under general guidance and is eager to grow the CRM channel for Walgreens Advertising Group.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes operational activities that have moderate to significant impact on the direction of the specified functional area of eCommerce and/or the organization, and may include responsibilities in the area of Digital Merchandising, Operations, Photo, eHealth, User Experience, Strategy, or Marketing, such as:

  • Developing the highly- complex or industry- approaches to drive the development of broad reaching programs/designs.

  • Defining, deploying and institutionalizing functional area research approaches and related knowledge bases.

  • Forecasting and assessing industry trends and their impact on designs and methods of the specified functional area.

  • Establishing research guidelines, best practices and standards.

  • Analyzing, summarizing and presenting results to functional teams and decision makers.

  • Serving on the of the specified functional area team for strategically important initiatives.

  • Developing programs that establish and enhance standards.

  • Interpreting highly complex results and analyzing trends.

  • Identifying and establishing relationships with internal/external partners.

  • Performs as the subject matter expert for the specified functional area and may become actively involved, as required, to meet schedules and resolve problems highly complex in nature.

  • Develops and highly complex programs that establish and enhance standards. Develops the specifications of highly complex projects and may perform as implementation project lead. Develops and implements improvements to processes, as necessary.

  • Determines business approaches and/or develops major new technical tools.

  • Shares highly complex information related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced business solutions. Evangelizes new ideas / solutions to gain acceptance from a wide range of audiences.

  • Develops business approaches and new or enhanced processes.

  • Guides and mentors a wide range of audiences. May provide subject matter expertise to the business. May participate in teaching and training members of the work team.

External Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience in Merchandising, Marketing, eCommerce, Strategy, Healthcare, Analytics, Finance, and/or Operations OR High school / GED and at least 9 years of experience in Merchandising, Marketing, eCommerce, Strategy, Healthcare, Analytics, Finance, and/or Operations.

  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.

  • Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.

  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

  • Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.

  • Experience developing and delivering presentations to various audience levels within an organization.

  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.

  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of CRM experience, including email and direct mail.

  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Campaign Classic.

  • Comfortable working in Adobe Analytics.

  • Superior attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to clearly communicate complex information to less technical audiences.

  • Strong work ethic and an ability to function in an ambiguous environment.

  • Ability to solve complex problems and issues leveraging past learnings, while applying new perspective.

  • Strong bias toward action and results-oriented activities.

  • Passion for learning new skills, expanding experience.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, organization, team work and follow-up skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects while still ensuring all timelines and key milestone are met.

  • Experience working cross functionally with Sales, Media Planning, Ad Operations, Data Science, Measurement, Analytics, and Product teams.

  • Experience managing a team of CRM specialists.

  • Master’s degree OR MBA.
